It's awesome hot!

No, I'm not giving a weather report.

My boys...my poor poor boys.

We'll start with the awesome part of today's program.

For the past few weeks Squirt has been saying that everything is awesome. Number 1 would be playing with his toys and Squirt would say "awesome". We'd be eating some grapes and Squirt would say "awesome". It didn't seem to matter what we had it was awesome.

Stupid us. If we'd only listened closer we'd realize that in Toddler(a language all it's own) awesome(pronounced ah-wah-sum) = "I want some"...sigh

Hot...how do I begin this one...

Number 1 has been enjoying later hours and more primetime tv now that school is out.yeah that's good We were watching tv the other night whatever you do don't tell them that you watch "So You Think You Can Dance". One of the contestants actors came on screen. All of a sudden from the corner of the couch we hear "whoa, she's hot"in his defense she was way hot, Nigel agreed. and her being half naked didn't hurt. I felt my face turn red and clenched my jaw as to not laugh and damage his fragile early forming male ego embarrass him. The missus, finishing up some of her day's work, ducked her head behind her computer her face shaking with silent laughter how poetic. To make this all worse, his inner monologue apparently kicked in because next we hear "I probably shouldn't have said that out loud". From the mouth of a 7 year old...

It' Fatherhood Friday over at Dad-Blogs. Head on over and see what all the other cool guys and gals have to say :)

Wow! Admiring the female form begins at a young age, doesn't it? I'm laughing over here myself! And when his "inner monologue" kicked in, I was laughing even harder!
I think it's "awesome" that Squirt wants some. LOL. To your credit translating toddler can be very difficult.
May all your awesome hot days provide you with many laughs!

I know which chick you're talking about. Crap, I think I heard boys in utero say she was hot in that getup.

Thank you for the reminder to listen to my daughter's words carefully. Right now, her vocabulary is limited, but "out" and "up" sound the same. :)

Put that kid with my six year old and she'll straighten his ass out. She'll make a mensch out of him... :-)

Keep that kid away from my daughter! Even if she is hot, the other one better not be saying "awesome" either!

HOLY COW...that was hysterical reading...I loved imagining you both trying not to laugh...Bella is almost 3 now, and just this week decided "What Ev" is her newest....Kudos!

I think I'd give my son a high five if that came out of his mouth! Followed, of course, by my wife who would give me five fingers to the face for objectifying women.

Thanks for this, it just makes me look forward to Will talking more any day now!

@surprised mom - apparently so. I blame public school :)

@Isabella - I know, right? It was a total guy trap...

@Out-Numbered - I'm sure any of your kids would be able to put him in his place LOL

@JonnyTam13 - ROTFLMAO...just you wait. The guys'll be knocking on your door before you know it.

@Bella Daddy - I can totally see little Bella saying that. Too adorable!

@Daddy Files - Just you wait until you hear the things that come out of his mouth LOL. You'll regret looking forward to him talking, I can almost guarantee it hahaha.

Our son isn't talking yet, obviously, but I have the hardest time not laughing when he does something funny even when we know it is wrong. That is much too funny.

@Andrew's Daddies - LOL yeah, and he has a thing for redheads apparently.

@Doug - yeah the missus and I were able to laugh at it all over again as I wrote it last night :)

@PJ - It is so hard, but man once they start realizing they can entertain you by doing something they shouldn't, you're screwed LOL.

Great stuff.

Well done on keeping your composure!

At least he went out on a limb in an appropriate context! I don't get that show - but from the comment thread it seems like he has good taste!

If it had been Susan Boyle - you would be worried!
