The Terrible Two's Have Entered My House...

and I'm about to beat the snot out of them!

I don't know what the worst part is...ok I'm lying I know exactly what the worst part is. He's totally indecisive. He'll holler to go potty and stays in the living room, so we go to get him and he shouts "NO POTTY POTTY!" we walk away and he cries "POTTY" and we play this game until I pick him up strip him down and sit his @$$ on the potty(hoping that I don't undo all of the work I did potty training him.) This isn't just relegated to potty, it's used with who's putting him to bed, if he wants water or not, or what toy he may want. Grrrrrr...

It's just as bad at nap/bed time. I try to get him to go potty before I lay him down. The reaction is more screaming and him trying to climb down off the potty. I take him in and lay him down. I don't even get his door closed before I hear "pee come come. POTTY POTTY MORE" At that point it's already too late. speak of the devil...brb

And then comes the clothes in the morning. He only wants to wear his Elmo shirts, of which we have 2. I do laundry on Wednesday, so that means, I have a peaceful Thursday and Friday...don't even ask about the rest of the week.

We didn't EVER have these problems with Number 1 and we didn't really get why everyone kept telling us how good he was and how lucky we were. We didn't do anything, it's just how he was.

Now I get it...I don't want it though, ignorance was bliss...

If you liked what you've read here go check out some of my fellow dad and mom bloggers at Dad-Blogs Go even if you didn't like it because thy're all better than me anyway ;)

I have yet to enter this stage. I'm a bit nervous about it.
I'm taking lessons from you.

We are still dealing with the sitting...for 20 minutes...and NADA! UNTIL, she is off and running around...for two more minutes...then sniff sniff...Sigh, happily we know, this too will pass (pun intended)

I feel for you. Yikes. Not there yet, but when I yell No Potty Potty my wife just locks me in the bathroom.

Cryogenically freeze him until he's three.

Mine turns three at the end of the month. I've had a relatively calm 'terrible two' stage, but I know what you mean. We were just trying to watch Coraline, and Calli would say 'I scared!' so we turned it off. 'Wanna watch that!' so we'd turn it on. 'I'm scared!' Finally, Strawberry Shortcake won out and i went back to reading FatherHood Friday posts! ;)

I'd agree with Apok's suggestion, except for the fact that when your kid thawed he'd still be two. I guess you're stuck toughing it out!

Funny, because I am reading this during my 2 year olds time out for not following directions for getting ready to go. Anyway, timer just went off, better go :)

Between you and Busy Dad-E this week I'm thinking boarding school. :)

@BellaDaddy - I hear you. So frustrating!

@KWG - my wife begs me to NOT go potty...

@Apok - but then when I thaw him...he'd still be terrible(and as Justin says, also technically 2)!

@Justin - Coraline was pretty good. I missed some of the ending though.

@ The Devoted Dad - It's funny how these thing happen huh?

@PJ - yeah, you probably don't want to read me or Busy-Dad-E lol, we'll have you scared out of your mind :)

Ha PJ, I was just thinking the same thing. I'm just going to enjoy the year I have left until getting into the 2's.

Welcome to our world with our number 1. You both thought she was a brat until your number 2 came along!!! Hopefully our number 2 will be more like your number 1. I know he eats everything but he is also much more mellow and laid back like our first nephew!! Can't wait to see you guys in a few weeks!!!

@JonnyTam13 - yeah enjoy your peace and hope for the quite that my first one was.

@Brian H - Thanks for the link!

@Tiff - We never thought she was a brat. We knew she was just like you :) Here's hoping that things work out with the little guy, but I wouldn't hold my breath 8) I can't believe it's almost time for you to move back!! See you soon!
